Bay Area artist George Mead, who mythologized the entire A-list of rock stars in his massive hand-painted billboards outside Tower Records stores, is delving back into the mythology of contemporary music; and the album art that branded it.
His oversized hyper realist paintings of LP cover art from legendary performers like the Beatles and Rolling Stones, the Who, the Eagles, and many more bring a fresh perspective on the art form: as iconic, culture-altering milestones they bring inspiration and identity to millions of music aficionados to this day who often associate as much with the visual art as with the music itself. George will be showing over 40 LP cover paintings as well as numerous other paintings at discounted prices.

Bay Area artist Prairie Prince, drummer, painter and Renaissance Revolutionary.
Prairie’s artwork and creativity seems to have no limitations with size or scope. He is well known for his work as the drummer for The Tubes (among many others), and a top session player for dozens of well-known recording artists. Prairie is also known for his prolific design and painting skills for set design with major music tours, murals, posters, and more. Prairie will be displaying three large stage backdrops he painted for The Tubes tours, along with a number of metal sculptures he created.

Drummer and artist Prairie Prince’s Art of Rock takes place at Makers Paradise in Berkeley on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 6-10pm.
The art show features Original Album Art, Posters, T-Shirts, Instruments and Paintings. Special Guest Artist Lindsey Millikan.

Cassel Gallery, Touch in conjunction with Goorin Bros. Hat Company, presented an art show perfect for me. ‘American Made’, an art exhibition featuring limited edition hat sets by Prairie Prince, Richard Colman and Reyes & Steel.
The hat I designed was called the Strangler – a black bowler with a custom woven tie band depicting scenes of bondage.
Opening night event – December 9, 2011. Closing event with live music – February 4th, 2012 from 8-11pm.
‘American Made’ DeLuxe is an exploration of the zeitgeist and an illumination of what artist participants believe it means to be ‘Made in America’. This exhibition is both satirical and earnest in its exploration of the contemporary American moment.

The artists participating in ‘American Made’ represent diverse artistic perspectives and styles. Prairie Prince is a greatly heralded musician who is also a de very talented and achieved fine artist. He will be displaying several paintings, as well as performing live with several of his local bands. Lucien Shapiro will be displaying some stunning found object, mixed media sculpture. wholesale jerseys There are also several talented graffiti artists involved in the show, that have a keen understanding of fine art as well as their prolific street art. Adam Rich Colman and several other very accomplished fine artists will also be displaying their version of ‘American Made’ themed creations. The opening reception of this exhibit was such a great success that Cassel Gallery has asked the participating artists to create wholesale jerseys some new pieces to display at this closing party event.
